Jay D. Tarnow, M.D.

Dr. Jay Tarnow is a board certified child, adolescent, and adult psychiatrist who is also a Fellow of the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and of the American Psychiatric Association. He completed a B.S. degree in Psychology from New York University, an M.D. from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, and a Residency in Child Psychiatry at the University of Colorado School of Medicine. He founded The Tarnow Center For Self-Management, which offers a multi-disciplinary approach to treat ADHD, anxiety, depression, learning disorders, etc. with medication management, as needed.

Kim Shapira, M.S., R.D.

Kim Shapira is a celebrity dietician and nutrition therapist with 23 years of experience working in diverse environments, including hospitals, sports clinics, addiction centers, and universities. ​Kim received her a B.S. degree in Exercise Science and Kinesiology from Tulane University and an M.S. degree in Human Metabolism and Clinical Nutrition from Boston University. She currently has a private practice featuring her proprietary technique, The Shapira Method, which focuses on having a healthy relationship to food. She is well versed on nutritional benefits and supplements to deliver a customized plan.

Aimee Herrera, M.Sc., BCBA

Aimee Herrera is ​a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) and Autism specialist, who uses naturalistic developmental behavioral interventions to teach communication, social interaction, play, and academic readiness skills for young children, ages 0-5. Aimee received a B.A. degree in Psychology from UCLA and am M.Sc. degree in Mental Health Studies from the Institute of Psychiatry, King’s College London.

Jessica Poonsombat, BCBA

Jessica Poonsombat is a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) with over 7 years of experience. She earned both her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Masters degree in Applied Behavior Analysis from California State University, Northridge. Jessica has worked in various roles and in multiple settings providing behavior analytic services to children and adolescents with and without developmental disabilities. Additionally, she holds certification to provide the PEERS® evidenced-based social skills treatment program for adolescents.

Alejandra Bartecek, MA & Lisa DePiro, MA

Alejandra (Ally) Bartecek and Lisa DePiro are both board-certified behavior analysts with over 15 years’ experience working with developmental disabilities. Their unique training program -- Eat, Sleep, Potty, Repeat -- provides parents with a strategic, evidence-based plan to help overcome their child's feeding, toileting, and/or sleep challenges. Lisa received both her BA degree in Psychology and MA in Clinical Psychology from California State University Northridge. Ally  received a BA degree in Psychology from California State University Northridge, and  an MA degree in Clinical Psychology from the Chicago School of Professional Psychology.

Note: All team members are independent consultants, who collaborate with Dr. Gittelson to bring you special programs and provide specialized services related to your child's integrated care.
